FeLT also provides College and Work Preparation Courses for Dreamers, Immigrant and Refugee Women, please contact us for more details.

1. ESL (English Survival) Classes:

English language lessons for students of English as a foreign language. We teach different language skills, depending on the students' abilities, interests & needs. All programs teach conversational English, grammar, reading, listening comprehension, writing, and vocabulary.

2. Violence Prevention & Physical Resistance

A city as big and diverse as New York can be dangerous if a woman cannot defend herself, which is why we're looking to offer self-defense courses for those who need it, and even those who might think they don't need it.

Knowing the basics of self-defense could make the difference between life and death.

Our focus is to empower  through exploring and developing the strength & skills needed in extreme circumstances that involve physical violence, especially where de-escalation techniques may fail.

3. Cultural Exchange Workshops:

New York is a city defined by its cultural diversity, with residents from all parts of the world. It only makes sense for us to encourage cultural exchanges to promote diversity by helping participants learn about each others' cultures.

4. Practical Workshops:

FeLT NYC aims to offer a variety of practical courses meant to support immigrants and refugees of New York on their quest for assimilation and adjustment to their new country.

These workshops include "Know Your Rights" segments, as well as a series of "Skill Building" classes that teach participants different practical skills to help them find and secure decent jobs.

Our objective is to help newcomers find the right formula for their new life in New York and support the American economy.

It is not in numbers, but in unity, that our great strength lies.
— Thomas Paine

We aim to offer childcare during FeLT NYC classes and workshops.

We are also open to new ideas, so please do get in touch and share your thoughts.

If you'd like to teach a class or host a workshop, we'd like to hear from you. Your skills and talents are needed as we reach out to a wider audience of people who need and wish to learn new things.
